I took this photo on a quiet November morning at beautiful Yuantong Temple in Kunming (China).
At the time, I’d been in China for more than ten days, so I’d visited quite a few temples up and down the country. Despite that, Yuantong Temple struck me as one of the most harmonious and delightful temples of the whole trip.
Unlike pretty much every other “sight” I went to in China, there were very few visitors at the temple that morning, and no large tourist groups led by tour guides with annoyingly loud PA systems. Thanks to that I enjoyed so much more the charming architecture: the gates, the pavilions, the central pond, the stone bridges… Just peaceful and marvelous, and a great place to find photographic inspiration.
I’ll leave you with one of my favourite photos from that day, while I work on a full-length post with more images.
